How much money is given away yearly?

That will be dependent on how much money is raised yearly. Scholarships vary and are given out on an even ratio to all four high schools in Matagorda County.

How will I know if I won a scholarship?

Your school will notify you that you need to attend their awards ceremony.

If I choose to not go immediately to college, for example deciding to wait one semester, do I lose the scholarship?

Students will have until September 1st of the year following their graduation to receive their funds.

How do I receive my funds?

Monies must be claimed by turning in proof that you have registered at the school of your choice within one year of graduating.  Example:  2017 Recipients must claim their money by September 1, 2018.

Do I have to be present at the award ceremony if I have a scheduling conflict?

We realize sometimes conflicts occur with scheduling and illness can happen. You school will invite you to attend your awards presentations and your name will be called and noted, but you will not lose your scholarship if not present
